Captain George Martinelli of Shaky's Charters continuously gives us memorable trips to Mosquito Lagoon and has gotten us hooked on fishing the flats.  Not only did George guide me catch my first redfish and the largest Speckled Sea Trout I have ever seen; he has given me practical knowledge and experience that I can use on and off of the flats.  As a mildly inexperienced Lady Angler, Captain George's patience came as a comforting surprise as I was able to make silly "beginner" mistakes without the fear of embarrassment.  He worked with me, offered suggestions (not orders) and allowed me to hone in my skills, consequently opening my eyes to the adventure of sight fishing.  On our most recent charter, we caught at least 15 Redfish (we started to lose track) ,with an average size of 24 inches, each one put up an unforgettable fight and kept us busy all day.  Captain George's understanding of the lagoon and its species is only trumped by his perseverance and dedication, making all of our charter with him a success. Whenever we are asked for recommendations on where to fish, who to fish with, or even what to do while in town, Shaky's Charters is at the top of our list.  So as fellow anglers and sportsmen, we thank Captain George for the wonderful trips we've had and for all of those yet to come!  Don't miss out on the catch of a lifetime, Give Captain George a call today!

After hearing about all the great fishing in Mosquito Lagoon we were finally able to take our first charter. Captain George made the experience better then we could have ever imagined!! Had a great day on the water and caught over 15 nice redfish. He was true professional and a great guy and we would highly recommend his services to anyone. Looking forward to our next charter with him. Thanks again Capt. George

Just wanted to follow up on our trip. You did a great job helping us to learn to fish and decide on what boat might be best for us. Sorry about breaking so much tackle - it was the trees' fault, ha. Thanks again and it's been so long since we ate crappie, we are really looking forward to it. Judson & Joan

It was this passed Saturday May 7, 2011 and it was gonig to be a little breezy. But thanks to Captain George he knew excactly where to go. He had the whole day planned out to the tee based on the time, breezy condition and the sunlight. I caugh Redfish & Trout in the early morining and then moved out to one of Captain Georges flats. All I can say is holly cow I have never seen so many Redfish in all of my days fising in the Lagoon. Windy day and not so perfact condition but we caught sevral Reds but the nice thing was I casted to over a hundren reds that day. A few of the Reds w here so big that it gave Captain George a break from polling and just wait for me to get the Red in. Thank you so much for a great day of fishing the Lagoon. I highly recommend Captain George to anyone who wants to caugh alot of fish. Thanks Robert Parker

It was Sunday June 4, 2011 fishing agin with Shaky's Charters Captain George. The day started off with another spectacular sunrise in the Lagoon that one could only see from a bow of a boat at daybreak. We begin throwing topwater plugs and it did not take long before landing some nice Trout. But you better be ready when that big Redfish hits that topwater plug, just set back and hold on, "man what a great deal", picture perfact morning catching Big Redfish and Trout on topwater and it's not even 8:00am yet. Later Captain George said that it was time to go to one of his hotspots for some Redfish action. It only took me about 5 min. of Captain George poleing when I made my first cast and hooked into a nice Redfish. Then around 11:00am Captain George said that we are going to another hotspot where there are several different schools of Big Redfish. That was fine with me because we had already hooked & released, and limited out on, serveral Redfish. When we got to the new spot George spotted a huge school of Redfish and agi n we caught several fish, 7 of the fish being 17 to 25 lbs (30 to 35 inches)these Redfish were drag burners. Throughout the day in that one hotspot we saw serveral schools that had over 20 fish in them and a couple of the schools had over 75 to 100 fish in them. We caught and released double digit numbers of Redfish from that one area. That was one of the most exciting fishing experiences that I have ever done and thanks to Captain George for putting me on them. If you ever wanted to take your kids fishing I highly recommed Shaky's Charter Service because when a kid sees that many Redfish and can catch them they will remember it and Captain George knows where to go. I have seen big schools of Redfish on TV but seeing them in-person was quite an event. Thanks agin to Captain George for another great day of fishing the World's Famous Mosquito Lagoon
